Whether it be a turbocharger, service kit, housing or O-ring; AET has the know-how, the inventory and the means to deliver.
AET have been remanufacturing turbochargers for over 35 years.
During this time we have invested heavily in specialist equipment and technical training, and have become one of the most respected turbocharger specialists in the world.
Stage 1
Every turbo brought in for remanufacture undergoes an initial inspection and is graded before being carefully dismantled for cleaning and degreasing. Bearing and turbine housings are cleaned in a furnace to fully ensure removal of carbon deposits.
Stage 2
Journal bearings, seal rings, and other small items are discarded as a matter of policy.
Stage 3
All major components, such as shaft wheels, compressor wheels and housings, are checked against the manufacturer's specifications. Components that do not meet the required high standards are replaced by genuine items.
Stage 4
Components that need machining progress to our machine shop where milling, drilling and turning operations are carried out.
All items are then rigorously inspected.
Stage 5
Once the rotating assembly has been put together, it is dynamically balanced to minute tolerances before being built into its compressor and turbine housings.
Stage 6
The housings are aligned and the wastegate actuator (if fitted), which controls the boost pressure, is set and calibrated.
Stage 7
Upon final inspection, the unit is marked in compliance with our ISO9002 quality procedures to indicate that it has successfully passed through our remanufacturing process. Once an identity plate has been attached to the housing the turbocharger is ready for use in accordance with our guidelines and fitting instructions.
